PPS

PPS is a hydraulic self-cleaning pre-pump suction strainer designed to protect the pump and reduce solids in the intake water. Installed submerged at the water source, it enables reliable pumping from wastewater, reservoirs, rivers, lakes and wells for agricultural, municipal and industrial applications.

PPS is a self-cleaning suction strainer designed for installation on the suction side of the pump, below the water surface. Its purpose is to reduce solids before pumping and protect the pump against debris accumulation. It can be used in wastewater intakes, reservoirs, rivers, lakes and wells.

During operation, a small amount of pressurised water from the discharge side of the pump is returned to the PPS through a ball valve and a manual control filter. This water feeds the cleaning system and is sprayed from the inside towards the outside of the screen, removing accumulated debris and keeping the outer surface clean during pumping.

Manufactured as standard in ST37.2 carbon steel, with shot-blasting pretreatment and a 150–200 micron epoxy-polyester powder paint coating, PPS is supplied with flanged connections. It is available with 1200 and 2500 µm filtration grades, diameters from 4" to 20" and flow capacities of up to 1400 m³/h, depending on model and filtration grade.
